Palccoyo Rainbow Mountain 1 Day Tour is a colored mountain similar to the classic Rainbow Mountain but there is not only one mountain in Palcoyo there are 3 different rainbow color mountains like ocher and red colors, with green, blue and white stripes. In Palcoyo also you will see the stone forest and local people dressed in their traditional costumes accompanied by their Llamas and Alpacas.

In this tour to Palcoyo you enjoy beautiful landscapes and the beautiful colors of Palcoyo mountain this circuit does not require much physical condition and you can do it easily and reaching it only requires a gentle walk of 1 hour and without unevenness, making it a less demanding alternative than the long trek to Vinicunca also we provide you with breakfast and lunch.

Itinerary

We’ve all heard plenty about Rainbow Mountain; the famous mountain of 7 colors a few hours south of Cusco. But what about Palccoyo Rainbow Mountain ? It’s another mountain that is full of colors and just as beautiful, only not as well known.

We want to show you that it’s just as wonderful to visit and give you a little more information regarding the mountain compared to the other Rainbow Mountain; Vinicunca. This way you can make up your own mind which you prefer to visit, or perhaps even both!

Cusco – Cusipata – Combapata – Palccoyo Rainbow Mountain – Cusipata – Cusco

Palccoyo Rainbow Mountain 1 Day Tour .– The trip starts picking you up from your accommodation at six in the morning. Then we will go to Cusipata, where we will have a tasty breakfast, finishing our meals we will continue the journey by car for about two hours and half, enjoying the view of amazing landscapes, animals, llamas and many villages before getting to the trek starting point.

After you receive the instructions from the tour guide, we start the walk toward the palccoyo’s viewer, from this place you will enjoy an amazing view of 360° of a colorful range and the Stone forest. The climbing part will be gradual and it will take forty-five minutes approximately.

After walking for about two kilometers four thousand metres over the sea level, finally we get to our destination: “Palccoyo and his three Colourful mountains”, we will have enough time to enjoy this spectacular place. Finishing our visit, we will come back to the trek starting point, where our vehicle will be waiting for us to take us back to Cusipata for the lunch time. And to conclude this journey we finally arrive to Cusco as earlier as we can.

Briefing or Informative Meeting

All information meetings and briefings are held in our main office in Cusco (or your hotel) at 5:00 pm, one night before the tour begins. These meetings last approximately 30 to 45 minutes. If you’re unable to attend, you must coordinate another time by email, by phone or at the Ausangate Trekking office.

Can I store my luggage at your office?

Of course! During the trip, your main luggage can be stored at our office (you can organize it with us on the briefing day or by email) or at your hotel, both free of charge.

Any equipment that you won’t need on the trek can be stored safely in your hotel. Nearly every hotel will provide this service. Don’t leave items of value with your bags; put them in the hotel safe and obtain an itemized receipt (in the unlikely case of theft, many insurance companies require that you have a copy of the receipt itemizing everything). It’s best to put items such as credit cards inside a sealed, signed envelope for extra peace of mind.

Pick up of guests

Ausangate Trekking can pick you up from your hotel, as long as it’s in the Historical Center of Cusco. Your guide will coordinate the pickup time in the briefing session, but please keep in mind that the time may vary between 30 and 45 minutes due to traffic.

Cusco is an old city, meaning it has many narrow cobbled streets. Some hotels and Airbnbs may be located on streets without access to cars or on long, steep slopes, making it difficult to transport luggage. We strongly recommend that you book accommodation with good access.

Group Tours

Group tours are made up of different types of people, then physical conditions and ages can vary. By agreeing to be part of a group tour, you also accept that some people may be faster or slower than you. Therefore, each person can go at their own pace on the route.

It may be the case that a group wishes to modify the tour; however, the guide will be the one who decides, after consulting with all the participants, if such modifications are possible.

Strikes and demonstrations

Strikes and demonstrations are usually common in Peru, and this may interrupt some of our tours. Roads can be blocked, and train tracks can be taken over. However, we will try to keep your trip as originally planned, even if it means leaving the night before the scheduled date. Under these circumstances, tours may also be canceled. In case of changes or cancellations, everything will be coordinated with you by our operations department. Your safety is our highest priority, and our decisions will be made to protect it.

Lost objects

Please pay attention to where you leave your things and remember to take everything once you leave our transport or restaurant. You’re the only one responsible for your objects during the tour.
